OCPulse was given the chance to look at a Raidmax Sagitta 2 Performance Series gaming case. We gladly accepted. This was a great case to review.
Any gamer should be pleased owning a Sagitta 2. It offers great styling on the front bezel and a large side panel window. Both of which have lighting. The tool free drive installation In the drive bays and slots offer plenty of space for all your needs. Plus space for three 120MM fans. For the price point this model sits in. Whether your a LAN gamer or someone who wants stylish computing and function on the desktop. You will be pleased using the Raidmax Sagitta 2. Since not many cases in this price point offer all around 120MM fans and tool free design or rounded edges internally. How about we look further into this case?
Raidmax offers the Sagitta2 in 5 colors (on the door.) This model has a common theme of chrome like accents, black body with blue lighting.

Styling
The images really do not show how dark and shiny this case is. The black finish on the case body has a rich and deep look to it. It is not automotive grade or powder coat. Though, does appear to be durable and well applied. On this specimen, I did not see any imperfections in or on the finish. The front bezel including the door is made from what looks to be ABS plastic. As a whole, both the body and bezel have a nice enough finish to be able to see reflections well.

Lit up
Once power is added to the case fan and front bezel. You get the LEDs to light up. I was expecting them to be of unequal brilliance. Not so, I found the front and back to be near enough equal, where one part did not take from another.
Front
The front bezel obviously has a door. That is held closed when desired by a magnetic latch. When opened it shows the drive bays and front I/O ports. this model sports two USB and headphone and microphone jacks.
Under the door is the front air intake. Which on most cases. They do not allow air in the front. Having that 1200MM option for frontal intake Raidmax did well opening up this area. Since most users do not want a gaping hole in the front of their case. The Sagitta 2 has two clear plastic pieces. That actually have LEDs behind them. Which make them light up. Also when the HDD is used. They light up red somewhat. So you get a nice balance of color and function here.
Rear
Moving around to the rear.. We see the large opening for the rear 120MM fan. Plus the slots for any expansion cards you might want. The black plastic doo-dads are the tool free slot retainers. Minus these features, it is standard fare for an ATX case. The panels on both right and left are held on by thumb screws. Which is accessed from this part of the case.
Side
The side panel has a large window in it. The slick thing about this window. It has a mounting system. The chrome like accents on the exterior are actually retainers held on by a rear washer and screw. Should the user have the need to remove the window. It will be a snap top do so. Another neat thing, That same panel has a LED fan in it. Not the dinky 80MM fans found on most case panels. This is a very robust 120MM.
Inside
Now that we have the side panel off. Might as well take a peek inside. There is plenty to look at here. One thing I would like to mention before I get to deep here. This is a case with no sharp edges inside of it. Even at this price point, some makers neglect this one important feature. Not so on the Sagitta 2..Your are not going to get shredded up installing your parts or working on them.
The back plate is nothing special really. Since it is ATX based. The one notable thing is the markings to help you get them standoffs in the right spot for your board. It is a small but nice touch. the package does include enough screws and standoffs to cover even the largest board this case can hold.
The drive bays. Which this model has 10 of them. They will hold up to five 5.25 inch sized devices. Then there is five 3.5 inch bays for that sized device. The 3.5 inch bays are actually two directions. This is where you really see the blunted edges in this case. With the tool free design. You have a lot space to work in and get your gear going without shredding your hands up. It does not sound like much. Without the use of tools, your going to be more hands on then with a normal installation.
Cooling
As seen in the image and mentioned above. This case holds three 120MM fans. Raidmax packages the case with 2 installed. The third is left to the user to get going. Not many cases in this price range have as many fans. Most who do have as many, choose smaller sized units. So with that in mind. Your not going to worry about having weak airflow. 120MM should be the standard on all cases. Most offer an oddball mix 80MM , 92MM and 120. The cases that do offer 120MM goodness all around. Are much more in price. Or skirt using that size In the window. This size is actually a good thing for cooling in so many ways.
Above in this review there was made mention of the mountings for the window. What makes this a good thing having removable mounting… Well a user is not limited to one spot for the side fan. If you need to cool that Sli setup directly.. Remove the window and adjust orientation as you see fit. The fan positions work really good in the stock placements. For the type of case, it is going to be cooled very good at the price point it sits in. The range the Sagitta 2 sits in, a design has to be unique and offer something above the others. The cooling is just another feature it has going for it.
Conclusions
This is a great case with little flaw. The only flaws this reviewer could see, was the bezel is not easy to remove. Not a show stopper. It will make any user happy installing hardware and using the case. you will have form and function for a good price. this is the first case I have used by the company Raidmax. If all the products are this good. I am a fan of them.
Pros
Great styling
Good fit and finish
Rounded edges inside case
Easy installation of parts
Door can clear Rheobus controllers
Cons
Header wires could be longer
Bezel is not really easy to remove
Front fan can be a pain to install
Lower drive cage might impede front fan

Thank you Raidmax for supplying OverclockersPulse this great case. It was truly a pleasure to review.
