Evo-G is all about gaming gear, a statement presented on the company’s website. Evo-G is relatively brand
new company that is starting off in the computer peripheral industry targeting PC gamers who wants the latest gaming gear out in the market. With existing strong proven contenders in the market like Logitech and Razor, Evo-G aims to attract customers with innovative products the likes of which have never been seen in the market. Creativity of the products they design is their key weapon to get attention from all ranges of PC gamers. Lets see how their first released market product fares in our review.
Introducing the Evo-G Mouse Bungee MB1
The MB1 is Evo-G’s first created product. The product was created in mind to help PC Gamers love the dreaded long mouse cords from interfering while in the heat of battle when the user player moves his/her mouse quickly and potentially knock or irritate the surrounding with the mouse’s long cabling. The logic of the product is simple, it suspends the end portion of the cord that is connected to the mouse in order to immobilize the “extra” cable so it cannot interfere with the user.
Front and Back of the box
Product out of the box
Rubberized bottom to keep hold in position
The size is comparable to a Logitech MX518, G5, or G7 with the only exception that it is one inch shorter.
1st step base extension
2nd step tip extension
3rd step is to place the mouse cable into the provided groves of the product
While inserting my G5 mouse cable into the groves, I realize that that the product will not work with all mouse products on the market due to the fact that the groves are not adjustable to accommodate to all mouse cables are bigger to the diameter.
While using the product, it provides the user a partial feeling and thought of the mouse being wireless because of the effects of reduced drag of the lack of cable moving across a surface on both ends of the MB1. Even though the product provides the thought of wireless, it is still limited to how much cabling of the suspended end the user has provided to him/herself.
Shown here is the negative effects when the user have provided too much end cable suspension. In other words, what you shouldn’t do.
These images shows the product in working condition when end cabling is properly provided, notice the “extra” cabling on the other end of the bungee is still in the same position
Comments/Suggestions
The product works as advertised with very few minor cons and gets the job done. The question of if this product is useful or not is solely entitle to the user’s view of the product if he or she really needs it or not. Those with messy desks can benefit more from the product due to the fact that it is a preventive measure towards interference of mouse movements by surrounding objects or excessive cording. It does a very good job for what it is made for and comes with a fair price tag of $14.99 from most online vendors which shouldn’t hurt your wallet if you feel like trying out the product to find if it is useful to you or not.
What we liked…
- Eliminates Excessive Cording Movement
- Reduces Drag
- Heavy Base To Keep The Product Grounded
- Works Well With Majority Of Mouses Made By Big Vendors Such As Logitech or Razor
- Compact Design
What we didn’t like…
- Top Portion Can Break Easily
- The Orange Tip Is Very Flimsy
- Pre-made groves are not compatible with some mice
