Western Digital is continuing to improve upon the original “Raptor” hard drive design with its latest release, the “Veloci-Raptor”. The new 10,000 RPM drive features modest improvements including 300gb storage capacity, SATAII support up to 3.0gb/s, and 16mb cache. In additional to the speed and storage improvements the drive also features a new “Icepack” cooling system. This new drive will be the coolest operating 10,000 RPM drive on the market. The new drives will begin shipping in May and will have an estimate price of around $300 US Dollars.
